Small Formation, big sound
The three ensembles of the Saxon Wind Philharmonic
The full symphonic sound is of course only achieved with all of our 32 orchestra members, but smaller ensemble formations have been established for many works and genres, which our musicians masterfully and finely tuned to sound.
There are two quintets under the roof of the Saxon Wind Philharmonic, one exclusively with brass instruments, the brass quintet, and one with predominantly woodwind instruments, the wind quintet.
For a classic serenade octet repertoire, experience our serenade line-up, which brings between 8 and 16 musicians onto the stage, depending on the repertoire.
