Our house
Symbiosis of sound and architecture
Our seminars and further training as well as numerous concerts by the Saxon Wind Philharmonic take place in the German Wind Academy inaugurated in 2011 in Bad Lausick.
The building is designed by the team of the architect AXEL HÖER and it's known for the high quality of design and sound.
The building "grows out of the mountain" and integrates harmoniously into its surroundings of the "Kurpark" in Bad Lausick.
Particular attention was paid to the sound inside the concert and recording room. An ideal acoustic of 1 second (time measure) reverberation for recording purposes is ensured by sophisticated sound elements on the walls and ceiling of the hall. However, the acoustics (reverberation) can be regulated between 0.7 and 1.3 seconds using curtains and roller blinds. This enables a sound adjustment e.g. for variable ensemble sizes or different numbers of listeners.
The building is used today for radio and audio recordings, for concerts by the Saxon Wind Philharmonic, but also for training courses of the German Wind Academy and the Muldental Music School.
