The Neue Scherbelberger

The success of its folk music formation has always been of considerable significance in the orchestra's history. Why were they so successful? Because professional musicians were performing with heart and soul. They were public favourites for many years due to their presence on popular folk music broadcasts on television and radio and due to performances at numerous live events.

Nowadays, the 18-man folk music ensemble presents wind music which goes right to the heart and ensures a great atmosphere. The "soft sound" of the Neuen Scherbelberger reminds one of Ernst Mosch and his Egerländer Musikanten. Melodies from German composers can be heard in addition to unforgettable polka and waltz compositions by Bohemian musicians such as Karel Vacek or Jaromir Vejvoda. The wide range of traditional brass music from Bohemia and Moravia and other Saxon regions is supplemented by expertly-played instrumental solos.
